Owner/managing director Grant started out 30 years ago, firstly selling windows by cold calling over the phone. Before learning to manufacture windows in the original manner of milling and mechanically joining externally glazed profile, fitting every gasket and tape manually. After a few years it became apparent that the industry was beginning to change to a fully welded, internally glazed system, with a little forceit, he quickly understood that everyone was now starting from scratch and if he applied himself he could elevate his skillset above those who had many years of experience. To do his, while all of is friends were out partying and himself having a young child to provide for, he began to study all the technical manuals at home in his own time, self teaching himself most of the techniques, as there really wasn't a vast array of people to learn from at this time. Learning how to physically be able to fabricate every type of window and door on the market- this giving him a knowledge base that 70% of other company owners cannot say that they have. As we all know there is a big difference between knowing something and having the actual experience or ability to do it. After spending years refining these skills, he spent time learning the fabrication of conservatory roofs using multiple different systems, before focusing on the installation aspect of the industry, which is why he's of the belief that any good tradesman should have been trained in all aspects of each sector of their chosen field before being let loose on someone's property. This is an old school philosophy as nowadays 50% of employees are thrown in at the deep end without proper training and generally are afraid to ask questions out of fear of discipline or be ridiculed. After working for many companies, and their focus being solely on money and not their employees or customers happiness, he decided to start this company with a view to build a credible business for his own family, employees and all of the future customers that we get. Through training and dealing with 1000's of different employees and customers it gave him the 'knowledge and understanding' that we must communicate differently with each individual on a personal level to be able to get the best out of them by building a relationship based on trust and honour. Whilst running the day to day of the company and carrying out the initial contact with all customers, at the show rooms or their homes, we have other members of the team carrying out different roles.
Jordan, who is now a partner in the company, he is our installation manager as well as our lead installer. Controlling every installation, Jordan spent 4 years fabricating and with his determination, managed to learn all aspects of this in a short time, something that a large majority of people never manage in a lifetime. Stacey, Grant's Wife, is our account manager and deals with all finances, contracts and litegation. As well as this, she also works with children who have additional needs 3 days a week, this is something she no longer needs to do but this is something that she loves to do and it has been her passion for many years. As Grant and Jordan are manually skilled, and in Grants case having the ability to put you to sleep through droning on about the evolution of window manufacturing, what she does is invaluable.
Emily, Grant and Stacey's niece, works alongside Stacey, helping with all the office based computer systems and accounts, whilst training to be a paramedic and taking on extra courses to advance her career and knowledge base.
Mitchell, has been with us for three years, learning all aspects of the installation and customer interaction. Mitchell has the responsibility of stock control, a very important aspect of any company and a role which will grow as the company does.
Summer, Stacey and Grant's daughter, is taking control of our photography and marketing. Due to her age, she has a vast knowledge of social media and editing, something that goes straight over the heads of us older people.
